Red Snapper Size Limit Proposed for Destin Gulf Waters
The National Marine Fisheries Service proposes gear limits and a 12 inch minimum size for Red Snapper in stressed gulf areas near Destin. The rule aims to curb overfishing, with a five undersized allowance, permit requirements for traps, and bans on explosives. Enforcement may rely on state help as monitors weigh challenges.
