UWF report shows Destin sales rebound in 1982 tourism year
The University of West Florida Center for Economic and Marketing Education reports July 1982 taxable hotel and motel sales in Okaloosa County up 36.5 percent from June and 24.5 percent from July 1981, with year to date down 6.2 percent. Destin chamber leaders expect July to become a peak tourism month, aided by Interstate 10 and strong promotion, while Walton County shows a smaller rise and overall declines for the year.
