Fast and furious fishing off Destin with big catches
The fishing line reports a week of strong catches across multiple boats. Capt. Don Lee’s Peggy Lee hauled grouper and snapper. Capt. Bob Greene’s Scrim Shaw landed large grouper and amberjack. Capt. Art Cox’s Ole Salt and Capt. Tommy Klosterman’s Melanie Dawn reported red snapper and grouper across several two day trips. The Birmingham International Sportsman Club chartered the Sweet Jody for 600 to 700 pounds. The Destin fishing scene includes amberjack, king mackerel hopes, a wedding at sea, and a Memorial Day fish fry planned by the Destin Charter Boat Association with tickets at $2 children, $3.50 adults.
