Dredge Contract Bids Sought for East Pass Old Pass
Alton Colvin of the U S Army Corps of Engineers says bids will be opened later this month for dredging East Pass channel and Old Pass Lagoon. Estimated cost ranges from 100 000 to 500 000 dollars, with about 60 days to complete. East Pass dredge 1500 feet to 20 feet below mean low water plus two feet overdepth. Old Pass Lagoon dredge 900 feet to 12 feet below mean low water plus two feet overdepth.

Coast Guard rules fishing boat accident fatal four
A Marine Safety Office spokesman said the 22-foot boat Miss Kathy accident was caused by severe weather with four fishermen missing since April 4. Autopsies identified drowning with exposure as the death causes for Larry Brown, his son Larry Brown Jr., Edward Crayon, and Larry Sanford. The boat remains unfound after searches by Coast Guard and Air Force teams from Destin Marina.

Anchors Aboard Okaloosa County Face Hurdles in Old Pass Lagoon
Okaloosa County seeks a designated anchorage in Old Pass Lagoon that the Coast Guard has basically approved but may block large docking facilities.
