Amberjack Dive Boats Report Excellent Conditions and Rich Catches
Amberjack dive conditions remain excellent with calm seas and visibility from thirty to sixty feet. Destin boats run full and half day trips with cat sharks of fish lobster and shells. Atlantis capt Brad Way reports fifty to sixty feet visibility and catches of Longusta Lobsters at timber holes and White Hill reef along with a 13 inch Shovelnose lobster and several amberjacks and groupers. New students completed checkout dives on the Atlantis as Afternoon Delight led weekend trips and a night dive for local divers and a Virginia visitor who praised Miracle Strip diving over Virginia’s coast. Fantasea captains Worland reported large Shovelnose lobsters shells and a dropped rod and reel from a fisherman, with two young divers enjoying a Sea Turtle night ride on Frangista reef. Aquanaut captains Butler reported many large amberjack and grouper with excellent shelling on an all day trip. Congratulations to newly certified divers on checkout dives this week and Bottom Time captain Russ Rhodes ran all day charters with a 46 pound amberjack taken by speargun.
