Destin Fire Board Sets July 11 Meeting At Station
The Destin Fire Control District board will hold a regular session at 7 p.m. July 11 at the fire station on Stahlman Avenue. Chairman Zack Brunson said reports from several committees will be heard including an update on hiring a part time fire inspector and the legal requirements and costs. The three person committee has been reviewing the inspector criteria and funding. The meeting is open to the public.

A Destin zoning review panel held a second public meeting to hear residents demand preservation of Residential Urban Single status for land around WMMK on Main Street and oppose Business Tourism and commercial fronts. Neighbors urged retaining RUS along Azalea Drive, and called for a park in a disputed triangle near Calhoun and Libert.
