Northwest Florida All Sports Award Dinner Honors Variety of Athletes
At Fort Walton Beach Fairgrounds hundreds of Panhandle fans celebrated this year’s All Sports winners. Emmitt Smith was honored via his parents as the prep player of the year while not in attendance. Other honorees included Ricky Thomas, Jim Presley, and Mike Gebhardt, with Gebhardt lauded as a world class board sailor and summer Olympic hopeful. Mary Pickett and Gary Reasons attended, and Lewis Grizzard closed the event with humor appreciating the region’s sports community.
