Proposition One debated at public forum amid tax limits
A four hour forum sponsored by the Citizens Council for Budget Research featured two supporters and two opponents of Amendment One. Opponents warned heavy litigation and sweeping government restructuring if passed, while proponents argued it would curb taxes and force accountability. A straw poll of 72 attendees voted 45 against the measure with 19 undecided as seven more forums are planned.
