Destin Posts 1 Million Dollar Post Office Site Purchase
Jim Chitwood announces a 2.6 acre Main Street site bought for 220000 to build a new 9990 square foot post office downtown. Postal officials expect design in months and construction to finish by March 1985, with Hobgood Prescott or Ricks KenDricks Stokes David as architects. Postmaster Al McLeod notes rising mail volume and box sales as the project proceeds.
