Destin Seeks First Full-Power TV Channel 64

FCC received a request from Multi-Systems of Destin Inc. on January 12 to allocate UHF Channel 64 for the community, which currently lacks full-power television stations. The agency will study interference, publish a notice, and open a six month comment period before a possible August decision.

Destin sees over $1 million in building starts in 1983 stay

November and December 1983 Destin building starts push the village total past $1 million with fourteen new residences valued at $545,720 and several commercial projects. Notable permits include a $150,000 Shopping plaza for Ernest Shahid on Highway 98 and a $500,000 Moreno Point Road condominium project by White Sands Development Inc. The month also adds six unit Legion Village additions and a $114,400 six unit Nautical Way Corp project on Gulf Shore Drive.
