Destin Inspires Novel Pride's Reckoning by Carolyn Thornton
Mississippi author Carolyn Thornton based Pride's Reckoning on Destin memories from a weekend in Seascape and Destin Village Gallery. The 31 year old writer, living in Hattiesburg, says the town's atmosphere and Gulf waters shaped her romance tale about a young artist's first show. Thornton, with a journalism degree from Southern Miss, has four more books due next year and a fifth in 1984, and she credits Destin with vivid southern settings.
