Governor Panel Backs POD Efforts to Beautify Coast
The governor's growth panel formed an eight member environmental and aesthetics subcommittee to coordinate with county planning departments on landscape policies for south Okaloosa and Walton counties. Members include POD president Virginia Aldridge and officials from the Marine Fisheries Commission, Department of Environmental Regulation, and local counties. The group will study setbacks signs greenbelts and highway corridors while weighing landscaping ordinances and enforcement challenges.
