Coast Guard Searches Okaloosa Area for Missing Swimmer
April incidents include Jeff Sallas of Ventress Louisiana reported missing after swimming near Okaloosa Island Pier. A 41-foot vessel searched with deputies and patrols. no body found and two presumed escapees. Additional calls included a disabled boat in Choctawhatchee Bay and a hoax mayday from the Gulf. A Hobie Cat capsize and other recoveries followed as Coast Guard and Auxiliaries towed vessels to safety.
