Oil Rig Reef Backing Sought From Gulf for Destin Reef

Destin Chamber of Commerce heard a proposal to convert a used oil rig into a fishing reef off Destin. Gulf Oil Corp may donate an 80 by 225 foot rig template, tax write off potential noted. Tenneco’s similar reef sunk last year, travel time to it cited.

Stormwater Plan OK'd by Okaloosa County After Flooding

Okaloosa County commissioners authorized the project engineer to begin Legion Drive drainage improvements for Legion Village townhouses. Developer Ross Franklin agreed to excavate and resod to retain runoff, with berms and retention areas planned for 84 homes.
