Panel weighs harbor plans and highway widening in Destin area
The Northwest Florida Coast Resource Planning and Management Committee will review about a dozen transportation and Old Pass Lagoon recommendations. It considers forming an Okaloosa Walton Transportation Authority, including extending U.S. 331 to I-10 and adding a north south Bay bridge link to improve disaster evacuation. A fourth item would reserve 330 feet of right of way along U.S. 98 for future expansion. The panel plans a June 1984 report to Gov Graham and Cabinet and meets April 11 at Sandestin Resort.
