The Destin Community American Red Cross Blood Drive will run from noon to 6 p.m. on April 25 at St Andrews Church. Residents are urged to mark their calendars, plan to donate, and invite a friend to share life-saving support.
The Gulf Coast Stitchery Guild announces its 10th annual Needlework Exhibit at Casa de Casas Gallery Pensacola beginning May 2. Entrants may submit any stitched item ready for hanging, with a $3 entry fee for non members. Send SASE to Mildred Yost for entry blanks.
The Destin Christian Women’s Fellowship will hold its monthly luncheon at United Methodist Church on Beach Drive at 11 30 am April 14. Attendees should bring a covered dish and join in fellowship. A nursery is provided. For more information call Anita Rhoads 837 3648.
Elsie B. Garrett of the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections announces that Destin residents who meet eligibility may register to vote at the Destin Chamber of Commerce during office hours. Eligible individuals must be at least 18, permanent Florida and Okaloosa County residents, and U.S. citizens.
Dean Fenn, North Florida district assistant to Senator Lawton Chiles, will visit Okaloosa County April 21 22 to meet residents and discuss federal government issues. He will hold sessions April 21 10 11 a.m. at Courtroom B, Okaloosa County Courthouse, 3 30 4 30 p.m. at Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, and April 22 10 11 a.m. at Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce board room. A special matinee of A Thousand Clowns at Seascape Dinner Theatre is set for Wednesday April 13 with luncheon options. Luncheon theatre tickets cost 13 at the door or 12 in advance, theatre only 8 adults 6 children 12 and under. Doors open 11 30 luncheon served at noon curtain at 1 pm. A post show discussion with veteran actors follows. Play runs through Sunday April 17.
Viking Band urges community to donate usable items for a rummage sale on Viking Band Day at Fort Walton Beach High School. Call 244-0938 or 243-6700 for pickup or information or drop items at the school office 7:30 to 2:30 weekday. Closed April 4–8. Donations are deductible.
Fort Walton Beach Viking Day by the Viking Band Parents is planned for April 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school parking lot. Events include doughnuts coffee car wash rummage sale cake walk bake sale balloons and a concession with hamburgers hot dogs cakes popcorn cotton candy and snow cones. The Viking Stage Band will perform.
