Elks Festival Promises Greatest Street Fair Ever
Des Moines Elks prepare a grand festival with an industrial street, a Japanese tea garden, Moorish patios, Mexican theater, and an open air Midway featuring the Austins. A massive lighting system, a Down East country store, and a week of parades, shows, and prizes mark this city event opening June 23. Governor Cummins, Mayor Brenton, and state officials lead a multi-faceted celebration with hundreds of participants and attractions.
