Doings at Presbyterian Church Rally Day Plans
Heavy rain reduced Sunday school attendance but more than two thirds of regular attendees were present. Rally Day preparations continue with hundreds of invitation cards to be mailed to departments and friends. Revival meetings began Sunday with the pastor delivering the first sermon despite ongoing downpour.
First Meeting Opens With Notable Sermons
A large audience attended the opening service of the meetings. Rev. A. M. Shaw of the Methodist church delivered an able sermon at the evening service, followed by a splendid sermon by Rev. D. W. Bolton of the Baptist church on Monday evening. Rev. N. C. Denson gave an encouraging address Tuesday morning, with evangelist Rev. J. D. Fleming expected by Tuesday afternoon. Services are daily at 10 am and 7:30 pm.
