Special Train to Lake Village Friday
A special train will run from here to Lake Village tomorrow Friday, leaving at a.m. Returning it will leave Lake Village about 5 p.m. The train will consist of seven coaches likely to be needed for the crowd. Road conditions are poor as Lake Village road was found not passable, making car travel unlikely.

Parnell to Be Candidate for State Highways
Harvey Parnell of Dermott announced his candidacy for Commissioner of State Highways opposing William B Owen. Major Paul Johnson of Holly Grove arrives at Camp Pike after a notable World War II career in France. He was promoted to major and served as regimental surgeon for the 151st Infantry, escaping wounds during Argonne fighting. He plans a home visit and expects discharge after leaving Camp Pike.

Dermott Plans Big County Contest Delegation to Lake Village
A large Dermott delegation including most pupils and many supporters will depart tomorrow morning by rail to Lake Village for the annual county school contest. Dermott hopes to win most honors with reps in piano, declamation, voice, and track, plus chorus participation from all grades.
