A party from Dermott Monticello and Warren who attended the Presbyterian Laymen's Convention in New Orleans expresses gratitude to Agent Ford Mr Seaman and Dermott railway office representatives for securing a special Pullman Car and for courtesies that enhanced the trip. A $200 talking machine or Harmonic will be given away at Cohen’s Store. Each $1 purchase earns a key, with a mahogany board lock. After 30 days, if the right key is not found, a winner is drawn from contestant names. A duplicate key is kept at Dermott Bank to match the winning key when found.
A new gin company was formed here last week with incorporators Geo No Lambert Walter Lambert and D Kimpel. The capital stock will be $10,000. The gin will be located at the old Lephiew gin site with modern machinery installed. D Kimpel, a leading cotton authority, will be manager.
A beautiful Easter Cantata to be presented on Easter Sunday night at the Presbyterian church. The words and music promise a pleasing experience for lovers of fine choral work with earnest devotion.
Mrs W C Bowden and three female relatives plus a cook were bitten by a pup later declared rabid by Health Officer Dr Garrison. The attacks occurred Thursday to Saturday last week. The pup was killed and its head sent to Dr Rison for testing. results confirmed rabies. The victims were taken to Little Rock for treatment and precautionary care. Community sympathy is offered pending treatment outcomes.
