Conductor Darnell found a murdered man named W G Cooper on a lumber car after leaving Montrose on freight train No 360 around 4 30 yesterday. Cooper appeared shot in the forehead and cheek, had a cob pipe, pockets turned inside out, and a roll of wire. Papers pointed to a veneer company and a town name could not be read.
Tonight Artcraft presents Pauline Frederick in Out of the Shadow with special music. Friday Fox presents Geo Walsh in Luck and Pluck and Mutt and Jeff in Hot and Mutt. Saturday Artcraft shows Wm A Brady presenting Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Monday Paramount presents Vivian Martin in Jane Goes A-Wooing with comedy and music. Fox shows The Prussian and Wednesday features House of Hate third episodes with Hands Up and Lloyd comedy.
The Pastor's Aid group gathered Wednesday afternoon March 19 at 3 o clock. Two members were absent and three new names were added to the growing list. The treasury grew with $4 SU added to the general fund and 16.1 added to the building fund from sales of sandwiches cake and coffee by Mesdames Orr and Dyer. After a brief business session a social hour followed with a birthday cake lit by candles and a guessing game. The next meeting is set for April 2 at Mrs Orr's home.
The society held a Monday meeting at the church with the topic Making Democracy safe Politically. Mrs Ringold chaired. papers were by Mesdames Anderson Belser and Berendsohn. Mrs Prothro reported on the Fordyce conference as president. The motto is Go Forward. Sixteen members and one visitor attended. Mrs Barnett arranged a date with the University of Arkansas Glee Club for April 11. The next meeting is April 7 at the church.
