The Ledger of Kate Fullerton and a Vermont Letter
In a North Country vignette Silas Wright recalls a letter from a mysterious Kate Fullerton and the impact of her words on a small town. The scene shifts to a summer camp and a community building effort led by Aunt Deel and Uncle Peabody, as townsfolk prepare a new home while rumors swirl about an accusation. A visit from Senator Wright and the narrator’s aim to study law extend the tale, with guidance and a potential doorway into his future.
