Mrs Lute Stancill, 68, wife of W N Stancil, died this morning in Fordyce while in charge of the Chicot Hotel. Born in Carroll County Tennessee, she moved to Arkansas and lived in Paragould 25 years. She and her husband had run the local hotel business here for the past three years and the body was sent to Paragould for burial.
Mrs CB Courson hosted the Baptist Ladies Aid on Monday afternoon for sewing and chatting. A quilt was finished and another more than half done as they added to three quilts donated at social meetings. Mrs Leon Higgs attended as a visitor with her daughter Bernie. A tea course was served, followed by music and friendly conversation, and plans for the next monthly business meeting were announced for Monday at 1 o'clock.
