Residents travel to Little Rock and Monticello for business and visits. community events include church auxiliary and club meetings.
The Democratic primary school election in Chivot County saw 177 votes cast on Tuesday. C F Skipper and J C Hoffman won director seats while Harvey Parnell Won Bowden and Mrs A Prothro were elected to the Central Committee. Hoffman, who had stated he would not seek re election, changed his mind under friend pressure. Mrs Prothro becomes the first woman elected to a political office in the county.

Mrs. H. H. Dyer expresses deep gratitude for kindness shown while Dermott has been home. She announces leaving for a new place, saying Dermott will always hold a place in her heart and bids farewell with blessings.
Victory Salesmen KW Baxter Victory Loan chair man for the north half of Chicot county announces the appointment of a sales committee for Dermott. Members include J Hoffmann W J Trotter Poot Bynum Helmstetter H H Farnell J Kimpel PS Matthews A Bennett C oR Bates Andrew T JW Rowden S J T Wynone J Douglass A Prottiro SB Orr W A Porter and GE Kinney. The Dermott quota is 27000, 20000 more than the Fourth Liberty Loan target. Mrs Kinney is named Dermott chairman of the Woman Division.
About fifteen school children entered the German helmets essay contest offered by the Victory Publicity Committee. Judges KEPL Remles Helmstetter and Mrs Evans Dishough graded papers anonymously. After 24 hours deliberation, first prize went to Jack Tucker and second prize to Bert Kinney. both will receive helmets. Fifteen year old participants were noted.
The Man of Might, a widely heralded serial, opens at The Allied Theatre Saturday night. It will be shown in installments in The F for mott News, with the frat episode appearing this week.
