Der mott Board of Trade Meeting Sets Reorganization Plans
An enthusiastic meeting Tuesday evening in the Southeast Arkansas Development Bureau office formed a committee to revise the constitution and by-laws, nominate officers, and draft general plans for reorganization. Members include John Baxter, Wold Trotter, S J Wynne, P B Matthews and FT Haas. Invitations extended to HM Cottrell, E Bodman and Dr J F Weigart for April 26 to speak on progressive farming. a banquet in their honor is planned.

Bootleggers Arrested Then Bound Over to Grand Jury
Tina was arrested for selling whiskey and tag offenses and was sent to Squire Johnson who bound her over to the grand jury. Davis was arrested for violating the bone dry ordinance and appeared before Mayor Comett, who fined Wilt and remanded him after a re arrest for whiskey sales. Frank Lee was fined $10 by Mayor Bennett for violating the bone dry ordinance.

Ad Johnson Shot and Killed by Deputy Marshal
In McGehee on Friday afternoon Ad Johnson a 19 year old local, was shot and killed by Deputy Marshal Ben Baker after an incident stemming from a dog attack and a dispute with the dog’s owner. Johnson was returning from the school house where he was taking pictures when Baker, armed with a warrant, fired. Reports vary on details but the death is under strong local reaction and an examining trial was scheduled for Monday. Funeral services were held yesterday.
