Pine township residents share visits and gatherings as families and friends travel between Logansport, Mexico, and nearby towns. The report notes wedding, funeral, and church happenings, school start, and political notes from Metea township.
The ring of the school bell was first heard in these sections last Monday morning. A J Morrow is repainting his residence. Miss Della M Scott and Earle G Morgan visited at the home of M J Morgan at Adamsboro last Friday evening.
Jefferson Township Law and Order League passes a resolution on Sept. 15 1900 offering ten dollar rewards for proof to convict any agent, merchant, or saloon keeper selling intoxicating liquor illegally in the township after this date.
A local store invites the public to its opening event announcing new merchandise and welcoming visitors to explore what is offered during the grand start.
Wa. V. Beecher a well known pioneer of Jefferson township died at his home near Mexico last Sunday after a lingering illness of several months. The funeral was held at the M E church in Mexico on Tuesday with Rev I W Singer of Anderson assisted by Revs Godwin and Smith.
The Denver Cider Mill announces the last day to make cider is Thursday October 4. Those desiring cider must come at once as the mill will not operate after that date. Epward Miller.

The W C T U reports strong remonstrance support as temperance efforts push to end the saloon. It notes a churchgoing example for saloon keepers and families and cites Denver’s Sunday baseball halt as proof of the movement’s impact. Two Denver youths say temperance workers deterred baseball on Sundays and liquor travel.
