The Pennsylvania Railroad plans large scale forestry to produce ties. Beginning this fall 50 000 young locust trees will be planted along the middle division right of way. The project aims to enclose the line with locust trees to counter dwindling white oak stock.

Mrs. Mary See aged 66 died suddenly Sunday afternoon at her home two miles northwest of Weasaw. She felt a severe stomach pain after dinner, lay down, and died within twenty minutes despite her daughter Elizabeth's attempts to help. Funeral services were held at Weasaw church conducted by Elder Irvin Fisher with interment in Weasaw cemetery.
William H. Baldwin of Denver marries Elsie M. Shultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Shultz, at the bride’s parents home near Somerset on a Sunday evening in 1903. About fifty guests attend as gifts and blessings are exchanged and the couple plan to live with the bride’s family. Elder D. A. Hopkins performs the ceremony.
Teachers from Jefferson Union and Richland townships held a joint preliminary institute at the M E church last Saturday. A full attendance discussed educational problems focusing on school organization and classification with many helpful suggestions. County Superintendent P S Sullivan presided.
