The Training for Service Bible Class of the Brethren Church completed a year of study from August 26, 1915 to August 25, 1914 with ten graduates passing the first year standard course. Graduates listed include Mrs. Alice Maus, Mrs. Anna Wood, Mrs. Della Eikenberry, Mrs. Ida Eikenberry, Mrs. Lizzie Fouts, Mrs. Christine Smith, Miss Reatha Fishburn, Miss Rebecca Eikenberry, Mrs. Nora Fouts, and N.B. Brower. The class will hold graduation exercises soon, receive diplomas, and begin an advanced course, with another class to start.
Albert Eikenberry has moved the post office from the Fire building to the Friend building at the corner of Harrison and Payson Streets in connection with his soda fountain and lunch counter business. He will also run the grocery store.

The Ladies Aid Society presented a program Tuesday evening that proved financially successful and well received. The Belding sisters from Peru provided music and the Garritson girls, readers, earned frequent applause. Six year old Mary Elizabeth Garritson of Kokomo impressed the audience with her talent. Home talent included Effie Moody and Claude Gage performing songs. A large crowd attended despite poor weather.
The new Methodist church at Union five miles southeast of Denver will be dedicated next Sunday September 6. Pastor Rev Hunt from Mexico charge leads an all day meeting inviting everyone to attend.
A special meeting of the Denver Commercial Club is set for next Wednesday evening September 9 in the rear room of the Wright meat market. All members urged to attend for special business.
Miss Todd of Indianapolis was hosted by Miss Sue Fisher for the past week. On Wednesday they, with Mrs. Lee Fouts and son Floyd, departed for a Passer coast trip.
Mrs. Benjamin Cloud of Peru was robbed on Sixth Street as she walked home Saturday morning. The suspect fled with about $14, pursued by a crowd, and was arrested near Clay and Sixth. Police held him on $200 bond and sent him to jail awaiting October circuit court.
About fifty young people gathered at Oscar Brown’s home last Wednesday to surprise him. The party featured games social chat and music by several young ladies. A special game matched partners for lunch and refreshments of ice cream and cake were served. Guests departed late wishing him success at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where he began study earlier this week.

Miami County Horse Thief Detective Association hosts its annual picnic September 5 in Peru city park. A full day of entertainment includes contests prizes speeches music and a watermelon feast with 500 melons. Notable events include a rope-walk stunt by John W Wolpert and prizes for top contestants.
F K Baber renovates his store with a fresh coat of paint improving its look and the town. A man from Denver attended Saturday night Masonic Lodge with Earl Baber receiving first degree and L F Cooper third degree.

Mrs Anna Martin will open a restaurant and lunch room in the Darnell building on Payson Street. She moved soda fountain and lunch counter fixtures from Albert Fickenberry to the new site, and the room has been overhauled to a pleasing appearance. A cream parlor will operate with plans to carry confectionery stocks later.
Registration Day occurs next Saturday September 5 as the law requires two registration days this year. Voters must register to be eligible to vote in the November general election. The Second or Denver precinct in Jefferson Township registers at the Denver school house.
Mrs Edgar Lewis and Miss Beatrice Buber shopped in Logansport Tuesday. Ed Imhoof shows signs of improvement after a week of illness. Misses Mary Daniels and Harriet Stevens of Peru and Margaret Maiden of Logansport joined Oscar Brown for Sunday visits. Daisy Miller and husband Hope Wade, guests of his sister, returned Monday to Roanoke Virginia.
