PD M Carr of Omaha told the National Rural Letter Carriers Association meeting that parcels post legislation could fund rural delivery by making the rural postal service self sustaining in its first year under Burnham and Kean bills. A second item reports John W Richardson of Norfolk Virginia shot and killed his sister-in-law Josephine Cromwell and killed himself after domestic troubles and a separation from his wife.
Ralph W. Eddy, the traveling man who vanished in Milwaukee on August 12 two days before his planned Wooster Ohio wedding, is now in the Thirteenth Infantry US Army at Fort Leavenworth. Records show Eddy went to Jefferson Barracks August 21, declared to serve, passed exams, and was sworn in for three years. He was sent to Fort Leavenworth weeks ago.
Dr. Earl Jewett of Ble Ridge Shelby County Indiana and passenger Harry Coller escaped death when a barking dog caused Jewett’s car to overturn in Rush County. The vehicle left the road and toppled into a ditch. both men were severely bruised.
A Great Northern passenger train wreck at Marias river near Butte Montana killed two men and injured another. The engine derailed after striking a soft roadbed while the train traveled at high speed. Passengers were shaken as the baggage and smoking cars overturned. Nichols Family of 28 for Bryan votes to Democratic ticket in Indiana.
