A Saturday evening masquerade event near Denver honored Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Long with sixty guests. A mock wedding featured Lee Long as bride Chesten Long as groom and Freemont Golden as minister, with comical anonymity among masked attendees. The couple received china and other gifts, plus refreshments of ice cream and cocoanut kisses.
Miss Rose Fagan of Denver Indiana has decided to remain in DeKalb permanently to officiate as retoucher at Mr Gullickson studio. She previously visited the local gallery but left due to her mother's illness. Her return expands Gullickson's capacity for the large workload.
Foster Long, a successful farmer and practical business man, plans to move to Denver once he finishes corn husking. He recently purchased the Norris property on Harrison street and seeks a good location before husking begins, with locals welcoming his family.
Mr. and Mrs. Hunt left Tuesday for Indianapolis to attend a two day meeting of the State Bankers Association. Mrs. Hunt joined him Wednesday evening and they continued to Wheatly Ky for a visit with Mr. Hunt's parents. In their absence Denver Farmers Bank will be led by Mr. Whitehead of Wheatley Ky.

Sunday marked Seniors Day with an all day meeting at the Denver Methodist church. Rev J B Cook former pastor spoke at the main address. Thirty three seniors attended the morning service and more joined in the afternoon while Mrs Orpha Howes, eighty seven, was the oldest attendee. Mr C M Long, eighty three, was the oldest gentleman present. Mr Meek missionary from India spoke on Foreign Missions and heads of a religious publishing house in India shared insights.
On Tuesday October 5 at the Baptist parsonage in Denver A S Gloyd officiated uniting Eva Pressler Macy Indiana and William Kannada Peru. They will reside at 87 Ridgeview Peru where they will be at home to friends. Kannada is a former Denver resident now a carpenter at Peru’s round-house and Pressler formerly worked at Macy telephone exchange. Best wishes accompany the couple.
Last Wednesday evening at the Methodist church Miss Duncan, a reader and impersonator, and Miss Mills, a pianist of notable skill, offered the second number of the Den ver lecture course. The performance pleased large audiences and a November date is promised for the next chautauqua speaker.
Miami County trustees and school officials toured northern schools last Thursday. About twenty five people visited the Denver and Mexico schools to inspect operations and identify ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Mrs Frank See fractured a bone in her lower arm near the wrist while working in the yard last week. She toppled backward and caught herself with her arm, injuring it and preventing use for some time.
The Methodist Episcopal wedding at 311 East Main street Sunday gathered 19 relatives for a two oclock ceremony by Rev. Charles H. Smith. Mrs. Smith played the wedding march and seven year old Miss Fox sang a song written for the couple. A turkey dinner followed at three. The couple plans to stay in Peru before possibly moving to Flora Indiana for Mr Piper’s business opportunity.
O Blenis and Son have put up large signs at several spots near Denver to attract motorists for auto repairs. They installed an electric lighting plant in their garage with gas and electric lights plus a lamp lighting Payson street for a long stretch.They plan to convert the upper story for painting and decorating and offer full autoist services.
The Lake Erie & Western announces new timetables effective Sunday October 17 1915 trains 19 20 22 23 and 24 with varying daily except Sunday or Sunday service to Denver station. All other trains to be discontinued after Sunday October 10 1915.
The second monthly Teachers Institute will meet next Saturday in the Peru High School building. A detailed program has been prepared and mailed to teachers by Co. Supt. FE. B. Wetherow. The speaker will be Supt. Collicott from Indianapolis city schools.
John Quick and Claude Haines spent the first of the week camping along the Eel river aboard their boat. They traveled upstream to Stockdale and returned Wednesday evening. The pair carried their camp outfit and describe the trip as an enjoyable vacation.
A long account of the Weasaw brick church event at the Twelve Mile area on October 7 8 includes a morning service led by Rev S A Gloyd of Denver and a noon banquet for about 200 with pumpkin pies fried chicken and other treats. Attendees from Wabash Culver Maxinkuckee Lake Peru South Bend and Peru attended. the day culminated with a box supper raised by High School pupils for the 15th anniversary celebration.
Rev. Ray Banks of near Bedford filled his regular appointment at the Chili Baptist church last Sunday morning. He attended Senior's Day at Denver Methodist church in the afternoon and was a guest of Lewis Gustin family Sunday night. He stayed with Frank Ward Monday night and Tuesday morning left with Rev. Lloyd for Gary to attend a Baptist Association.
Rev and Mrs A T Ronk left Wednesday for Sydney Ind about thirty miles northeast of Denver. Rev Ronk has accepted the pulpit at the Brethren Church there and shipped their goods at the start of the week.
