The Brethren Church lists Bible Study at 9 30 a m and Christian Endeavor at 6 30 p m. Preaching at 10 30 a m and 7 30 p m. Public invited. Saturday October 9th marks the quarterly business meeting to elect church officers and one Trustee. A T Winton Pastor.
Denver and Chili churches post Sunday School at 9 30 a m with Lee Long and Amos Long serving as superintendents. H W Park is the pastor at Denver with preaching both morning and evening.

R R 2 Mra Wm Lantz and daughter Elba of Peru visited over Sunday with F S Matthias and sister Mrs Henry See and children. S D Berger and wife and nephew Gaylord See spent Sunday with the latter's mother Mrs Carl Hay. Mrs Lulu Sullivan and daughter Mary of Toledo came for a visit with P S Sullivan and wife and relatives. Mollie Murphy of Chili came to visit Mrs Mary Berger and attend the Weasow Home Coming. Cleve Staller and wife visited J W Dice. Frank Fenn of Kokomo spent Sunday with Ruth Letherman at Grover Lee’s. Paul Dewald and family spent Sunday in Denver with Claud Haines.
Albert Donaldson named executor of the will and estate of Lorenzo Donaldson of Miami County. The estate is stated to be solvent and is under the probate auspices of M. E. Andrews, Clerk. Also appears an unrelated notice about piano tuning services offered by L P Reinhardt in Denver for fall tuning.
County school superintendent E L Powell reports the annual Indiana State Teachers Association meeting will be in Indianapolis on October 21 22 and 23 with special railway rates and hotel accommodations. About two hundred twenty teachers in Peru and Miami County typically attend. Teachers receive three paid days per year two for the meeting and one for a visiting day, plus a mandatory school visit day to observe other classrooms.
Governor James M. Cox slated to visit Peru on Wednesday October 13 at 12 30 p m on a special train for a one hour speech. Accompanying him will be Mrs Ollie B Lewis noted Democratic woman orator with possible additional speakers. County officials expect a notable political demonstration and extend invitations to all residents to attend.

C F Golden of Denver Baptist church joined relatives at Ervin's 83rd birthday near Lafayette Indiana. The celebration occurred Sunday after her Saturday birthday with about sixty guests enjoying a large birthday cake and festive atmosphere.
Ex servicemen in Miami County may apply for $858.85 in scholarships for in residence and technical schools, short courses, or home study through the War Work Council Y.M.C.A. A local committee will review applications. wounded or disabled veterans above 20 percent are ineligible as government supports education.
Mr and Mrs Thomas Cumberland marked their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their South Denver home on October 6 with a dinner and a gathering of relatives and friends from War saw. Guests included John Cumberland Tommy Cumberland Walter Cumberland Ben Lowe Clyde Lowe and families Nelson Cook C Beil A C Miller Eli Fouts and Miss Ethel Ballee who brought gifts and best wishes for many more happy years.

Donald Greer, recently head of Cedar Rapids High School history, accepted a teaching position at Ohio State University after a recommendation from Dean Hoskins of Harvard. He left Denver for the trip to join OSU and begin his duties, visiting his mother Mrs. T. M. Greer before relocating to Columbus.
The Methodist Ladies Aid Society gathered at the Lewis Gustin home on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Lulu Gustin was hostess and the assistants included Mrs. Claude Beneareant and others.
School notes report a 22 to 30 loss for Deedsville last Friday in a close game and announce a Wednesday afternoon match on the grounds as Denver is set to play Deeds again. The piece notes the fourth week of exams and the Sophomore Algebra class facing difficult prep under Mr Donaldson.
