Infant Janet Marie Zook Dies at One Year

Electric bill payment moved to Murphy Grocery Store

Beginning Wednesday October 4 patrons of the Denver Electric Light and Power Co will pay electric bills at Murphy Grocery Store. Supplies moved from Elvin Long home to Murphy store to serve customers. Elvin Long Secretary Treasurer announces the change.

Ill health patient William Grimes makes recovery trip

William Grimes, long in ill health and critically ill for weeks, was recently able to ride in an automobile with his brother C. E. Grimes. They traveled to Mexico and toured nearby countryside for several miles, marking a positive turn in his condition.

A 54th birthday surprise for W C Redmon of Redmon Basket Factory was hosted by his mother Mrs Celia Redmon in South Denver. More than thirty relatives and friends attended with games music and refreshments. Gifts poured in for the guest of honor, including numerous family members from Peru.

Pleasant Picnic Surprise For Clingamans After Sunday School

Mr and Mrs Sam Clingaman returning home from Sunday School were surprised by about twenty friends and relatives who arrived with well filled baskets. A bountiful picnic dinner overflowed the table as games and music followed. Attending were J T Yarian and wife Jacob Larren and wife John Yarian and daughters Maxine and Jeannette Donald Shoemaker and daughter Marjorie all of Roann Russell Miller and wife Helen Floyd Hartzler and son Gerald of Gilead Jed Yarian and family Eddie Gray and Novella of Disko Harley Johnson and Arley Johnson of Denver visited in the afternoon. The day was enjoyed and long to be remembered.

Five Milch Cows Pass Tuberculosis Test

Dairyman S M Clingaman had five milch cows tested for tuberculosis by state representative J V Alexander of Indianapolis. All cows were declared free of tuberculosis and in first class condition. Clingaman has joined the state testing program and buyers should feel safe consuming milk from the herd.

Denver W. W. G. Meets at Baptist Church

The Denver W. W. G. held a Sunday afternoon session at the Baptist Church led by Mrs. Edgar Lewis. Thirteen members attended with two counselors and the group planned a November 7 meeting at Miss Emma Gallahan’s home led by Miss Helen Benedict. They announced plans to begin new work and closed with a weenie roast after outdoor games at Brower woods.

The Woman's Missionary Society of the Brethren Church will meet at Mrs. Edith Becker's home in Fulton Indiana next Thursday October 12 at 2 PM for its regular devotional meeting led by Mrs. Ida Eger on the topic Training and Leadership. The committee aims for a large attendance to ensure a profitable and interesting gathering.

Move to Denver Welcomes Murphy Family at New East Denver Home

On Friday last, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Murphy and their children moved from near Chili to a newly purchased residence in East Denver by Clyde Miller and wife. Mr. Murphy owns Jackson Grocery Store, which he took over October 1, and he aims to boost Denver enterprises with energy and drive. The community welcomes the Murphys as leading citizens and hopes for public support.
