John Ream of North Manchester visited Mrs Mary Ream and son Elmer. Perry Tharp and wife were Sunday guests. Miss Garnett Sopho Wright and Mary Alderfer were at Miss Bessie Pyle’s home Sunday. Foster Long family AB Long Ina Fouts and Beatrice Long attended Sunday dinner at V W Sellers’s home.

Surprise birthday party for Mr and Mrs Long

Mr and Mrs AJ Long were delightfully surprised Monday evening as many relatives and friends gathered to celebrate Mrs Long's birthday. Planned by Lee and Marie Long, guests included Miss Emily Cook, Vo W Sellers family, Earl Murphy, Beatrice Long, Ches ton Long, Aly Long, A C Cunningham family, and Mrs Ian Fouts. Dainty refreshments were served.

Local Social Notes From Peru And Surrounding Towns

Miss Gera Miller of Peru visited her parents over Sunday. Several residents attended gatherings in Peru including Lew Marburger and S D Berger. Mrs Nona Sullivan stayed with her mother in Peru last week. Families of Henry Lee visited relatives in Peru recently. SD Berger and family spent Sunday with George Lee. A A Morris and son Allen of Peru visited S D Berger this week. A box social at Dutch St school house slated for Friday evening November 24 invites all. G A Berger and wife and Zid Hoover and wives spent Sunday with Elmer Sloppy family. PS Sullivan and son hauled tomatoes to Denver for shipment to Laporte. Jacob Matthias worked corn for Uncle George Lee. Mesdames Mary and Nellie Cornell of Denver visited Mrs Jacob Stanton. Miss Fanny Berger surprised on her 18th birthday with about thirty friends calling November 18. Cards, games, and candy followed.

Denver lecture dates clarified for remaining program

The Tribune lists corrected dates for the Denver lecture course. A Radcliffe Bell appears Monday evening December 4, Southerners Concert Co. on January 11, Suwanee River Quartet on March 1. The note urges attendance at each event and reminds readers of the updated schedule.

The Ladies Aid Society and Epworth League of the Methodist church thank Denver residents for a Saturday supper raising 24.17 for the piano fund. Blythe Delph and others visited Mrs. Floyd Yoder. A local ad warns against rat poison from L. C. Dukes & Co.

Pupils of the Dutch Street School hold a Box Social and Cake Walk at the school house one and a half miles northwest of Denver next Friday evening November 24. Everyone is invited to attend and bring boxes. music will be provided and refreshments served.
