Peru Store Robbed by Noted Four Gang Members
Four robbers who hit the Senger Dry Goods Store in Peru for over $2,000 in apparel were arrested in South Bend after a collision near the Wabash Railroad. Walter Reese George Reed Robert Shaffer and Roy Clarke confessed Clarke claiming ownership of the getaway car. Bond is $3,500 each. Local officers credit swift detective work for the capture and recovery of much of the stolen goods.

Denver Parent Teachers Meet Seeks Broad Attendance

Mabel Marie Mays and Robert Elsmere Donaldson exchanged vows Saturday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of Mr and Mrs Josiah Mays west of Denver in a simple double ring ceremony officiated by Rev J W Clarke of South Bend. The bride wore tan canton crepe with Irish lace and carried bridal roses. Rebecca Eikenberry provided piano selections including Thine Own Lohengrin's Wedding March and Traumerei. After the ceremony a wedding dinner followed in a decorated dining room. The couple will reside in Detroit at 11814 Kerchevale Avenue No 51 after November 1st.

About fifty five members of the Baptist Sunday School and Young People’s Society held a masquerade social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Omer Zook north of town Tuesday evening. Funny costumes caused merriment while tunes were served by a witch and read aloud. After unmasking a short program and games followed with refreshments of popcorn and apples. All reported a very pleasant evening.

Mrs W F Johnson Undergoes Cataract Operation
Rev and Mrs W F Johnson drove to Niles Michigan where on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock Mrs Johnson underwent cataract removal on her left eye performed by Dr Bonié. Complete removal was not possible at this time and a second operation is hoped for later. Her eyesight has been nearly gone since a prior accident during housework. Friends await news of recovery as Rev Johnson reports the patient doing as well as expected after the operation.
