Denver chase after hitch rack theft ends with unhitched rig

In Denver on Sunday night about eleven, Jofa Wolpert of Peru reported his brother Ley Guatin’s hitch rack gear stolen in Péru. A dozen men with rifles and rocks mounted a roadwatch, spotting a driverless rig approaching Whitmore Roads. They chased to intercept but found the saddle and vehicle unguarded and decide it likely broke a hitch strap and returned home.

Denver Cornet Band Hosts Successful Box Social Night

The Denver Cornet Band's box social drew a large crowd under moonlight. Lee Armantrout featured a graphophone and fish pond amusements, Merritt Berkheiser served fine oysters, and net proceeds reached about 15 dollars. The eighteen day old band shows strong progress and community support.

Levi Flora Dies at 60 in Chili Indiana

Levi Flora son of Noah and Anna Flora was born near Denver Indiana July 23 1846 and died at his home near Chili October 29 1906 aged 60 years 4 months 6 days He leaves a wife five sons two daughters five grandchildren an aged father four brothers and two sisters He served as a deacon in the Brethren Church and faced illness with patient faith Funeral services were held Wednesday forenoon at the Courter church with interment nearby

The latest bulletin says Mrs Dora Derek remains seriously ill in Indianapolis but shows a slight improvement. A J Fite and M N Taylor are both very ill and judged unlikely to recover due to advanced age. Mrs May Conder remains about the same.
