A wreck on the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls Rapid Transit suburban line near Akron, Ohio, killed three workmen and seriously injured several others when two gravel cars with failing brakes sped down a slope. Nine jumped free. three clung to the cars and perished on the derailment.

H. chair factory fire with heavy losses.
In Cincinnati Judge Pfleger resolves a family rift involving Joe Hoenschemeyer and Mary Hoenschemeyer who separated with children. The court proposes Mary take the husband as a paid boarder to support the family while preserving access to the children. Both parties admit frequent quarrels ranging from five to twelve times daily.
Robbers blasted the Olivet Michigan post office and stole two teams before fleeing toward Charlotte to catch a eastbound train. Sheriff Shepard and deputies traded shots with three men who carried revolvers dynamite fuses pepper knives and a map of Michigan circled Olivet. The trio, jailed under names Edward Gillman James Almore and Frank Graham, had only 20 cents between them.
The Brody family in a ten mile distant Tennessee home lost four of their children when their small frame house burned after the parents left for evening church services. The children aged 5 to 18 were found sleeping inside as flames sealed the entrance.
