Garnet Wright stays with sister Mrs Clyde Dick of Kokomo this week. Mrs Jack Hobbs and son Bernard returned from a south state visit. Dee Brower family near Deedsville and Nettie Brower with Joseph Sullivan of Peru were guests at Charles Long's home Sunday.

Great Meeting D C B Mass Meeting Supports Men in Denver

A large turnout at the D C B mass meeting held at the Methodist church in Denver welcomed Rev Garvin of Macy who delivered the main address praised as the best in years. Five minute talks by Rev Wood Rev Banks and Pres Place preceded the message. Over sixty men are enrolled with expects to reach 150 as rooms above Bakers store are being prepared for club use to study and read. The group encourages all men especially the young to join.

Second Operation For Dr O B Andrews Proceedings Lauded

Dr O B Andrews, gravely ill at the Murphy home, underwent a second operation at Peru city hospital on Friday. The surgeon reports he is doing nicely with his wife and a trained nurse at his bedside as friends wish for a speedy recovery.

Chili Denvers Sunday School Contest Runner-Up

The Sunday School contest ended with Chili as winner by a large margin. Denver posted 247 attendees and 1 096 points on the final day while Chili had 255 attendees and 1 105 points, a 209 point gain. Chili won the contest by 435 points and Denver will host Chili within two weeks.

Joseph Wade born March 8 1835 near Attica Indiana died April 15 1914 in Peru Indiana aged 79 years 1 month 7 days spent life in Indiana except Civil War service trucking between Springfield and Rollo Missouri learned tailoring later hauled logs with ox teams in Denver married Mary Dininger 1871 two children Burton and Nellie Nellie died 1888 survived by Burton and two grandchildren from Berrien Springs Michigan and stepson Noah Dininger of Indianapolis.

Re-elected official named at township meeting

At the Monday meeting, J. S. Conn of Peru was re elected county attendance officer for the coming year. The trustees decided to hold the joint township commencement on June 18 with eight townships participating, Jefferson among them.
