The Standard Oil Company disbursed 20 million dollars in dividends with a regular quarterly 3 percent and a 20 percent extra cash dividend on 700 million dollars of common stock. At the Monom ahela Furnace Company in McKeesport Virginia a fall of a hanger released molten ore and caused a furnace explosion.
