Wilbur Personette traveled from Indianapolis on Sunday and returned to Denver with his wife after she underwent appendicitis surgery at a Methodist Hospital. She recovered well on the trip home and will stay with her parents in South Denver for a few days before returning to their west of town home.
Erie township farmer Samuel C. Rockenbaugh announces his candidacy for Miami county sheriff on the Democratic ticket, subject to voters in May. He has long resided in Erie township and built wide local acquaintance, is a strong Democrat and loyal party worker, and seeks the position as his first political office.
The three Denver churches ended a three week revival Sunday evening with strong attendance and many converts. Rev Harry Richer led singing to high praise while the local pastor and Brethren Church staff were praised for their work and efficiency during the revival.
The Epworth League hosts a supper in the Lecture Room of the Methodist Church on Friday evening March 22. Many good things to eat will be served.

Peruvian attorney Claude Y. Andrews enters the race on the Democratic ticket for Miami County to the state legislature. The announcement follows urgent solicitation from Democrats across the county. Andrews is described as a temperance Democrat active in community affairs and devoted to Democratic principles.
William McElwee of Macy announces his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Miami County sheriff at the May primary. Supported by Republican voters in the county's north end, he campaigns as an experienced, capable farmer ready to serve.
E. D. Leavitt of Shirley Indiana sold his farm southeast of Denver to Clarence Flora. The deal closed Friday and Flora traded that farm for the Snyder farm located one mile east of the Leavitt property on Saturday.
The Baptist Missionary Society women met on Thursday afternoon March 7 at Mrs. Fern Zook's home in South Denver. Mrs. Harry Richer gave an engaging talk on China with souvenirs, while scripture readings and prayers accompanied the session. A brief business meeting followed and the gathering closed with prayers led by Mrs. Anna Whisler.
Lorenzo Donaldson of Courier visited Denver on Monday morning to handle business and note it is his and his wife’s 52nd wedding anniversary. He recalled a Golden Anniversary two years earlier with children and a large dinner, but this year they plan a quiet celebration at home.
A heavy wind and rain storm Saturday night caused extensive damage in the county. C B Stockdale had his barn roof torn off. the Lee farm lost a roof on a house and windmill damage occurred at several nearby properties. Charles M Lee and Orval Eikenberry also reported roof and structure damage. O S Warner Perrysburg and O C Rannells Perrysburg faced losses on barns and houses. The storm's impact stretched across Ohio and into eastern Indiana.

The ladies who sew or will assist with Red Cross sewing are urged to meet at the Farmers Bank in Denver on Thursday afternoons to help with the work. Extra material has been secured and there is work for all. If Thursday is inconvenient, sewing can be done at home. The program had paused for lack of material but is now active again.

On Monday afternoon March 11 an eight pound baby boy named Herman Gregory was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Eikenberry. The family, including grandparents Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Newell, welcomes the newborn as relatives express pride.
On Monday the Benedict family welcomed a nine pound baby boy named Glen Edward. Mr and Mrs Ed Benedict celebrate the birth and plan to keep their new son.
