Shoppers Anna Martin and George Steffy were from Logansport. Marie Stowman visited by Catharine and Helen Zartman. Mary Jones spends week with Twelve Mile friends. Walter McGuire visits mother Mrs. Dan Carson at Twelve Mile. Grandma Bond to live with daughter in Wabash. Jiles Tillet of south of Peru attended Cecil Grinwold’s funeral. Charles McGuire and daughter Lethel vacationed at Monon with Alice Myers. Sickness persists around Mexico. Cecil Griswold funeral well attended with Rev. Lee Fisher in charge.

Friday all rooms except the High school were dismissed to attend the spelling contest at Mexico. Miss Ada Fuller visited the High school Friday. Miss Kathryn Balsbaugh returns after a week’s illness. Miss Wright resumed primary duties Monday after two weeks’ sickness. Physical Geography tests showed banner grades from 5 to 85.

Amboy Suffered Major Fire Destroying Several Businesses

A Saturday night fire in Amboy, a small county town, caused more than 25000 in damage. It started in a butcher shop and spread to the Amboy Mercantile, then to the Amboy Bank and the Amboy Independent building, injuring vaults, fixtures, and walls but with some insurance coverage.

Lecture on Home Missions by Mrs Bernheim in Denver
