David Black was born in Bote tort Co Virginia on April 29 1829 and died May 25 1908 at his home near Denver Indiana aged 79 years 27 days. He moved with his family to Ohio Indiana and finally Miami County where he died. He joined the ME Church young and later the United Brethren Church remaining a faithful member until his death. He taught school for about 40 years and influenced many who began their careers under his instruction. He married Nancy Burit in 1853 and had seven children three sons survive. After Nancy’s death he married Caroline Bailey on December 31 1880. this marriage lasted about 28 years until his death. He leaves a wife three sons one daughter two grandchildren five brothers and one sister. He was active in the IOOF Lodge for 25 years. Funeral services were held in the Deedsville UB Church conducted by C J Minor with burial in the cemetery nearby.
Sunday School starts at 9 30 with preaching at 7 30 p m under the subtitle The Emnity of the Carnal Mind. Morning service at 19 30 features The Standard and Price of Power followed by B P U at 6 30.
