Reports from the bedside of Mrs. Emily Ferrow say she is weakening as relatives lose hope. John L. Dewald remains in critical condition, with recovery unlikely due to age and frailty. Don Trent is seriously ill at his South Denver home after falling ill in Rochester where he supervised the B. M. Way Store Co. Mrs. Thomas Cumberland is also seriously ill in South Denver.
Grube's announces a selling event with extensive markdowns. Local shoppers are invited to visit and view reduced prices across merchandise during the advertised sale period.
Our Community Chautauqua is near with tickets soon on sale. The all star five day program features Roland A. Nicholas in A Man Worth While, Clifton Poote Trio, Ambrose Wyrick and Albert Heilman, the Floyds magic act, Boston String Quartette, W L Nolan We the People, Rudolphs Swiss Entertainers, Dr Joseph Clare Russias Red Riddle and Chimes of Normandy. The event promises top talent at a minimum price and strong community support.

A June 13 1920 letter from Decatur Illinois recounts Decoration Day in Denver with visits to comrades and old friends. The writer describes cemetery scenes a dance corn shucking a skeleton hoop skirt and a near train wreck near Person Indiana while touring Illinois Indiana and Colorado with family and relatives.
The writer notes it took seven hours to clear and build the track before passing, then marching seven miles to Atwood for lunch. They reached Decatur at 8:13 after thirteen hours since starting, signing off with hopes of no relapse and regards to readers of the Denver Tribune.
Nearly two hundred people gathered on the lawn at Mr and Mrs Russell Longs South Denver Wednesday for the Ladies Aid Society Methodist Church Husband’s Meeting. The event featured Japanese lanterns flowers Denver Merchants Band games socializing a luncheon of hot wiener sandwiches doughnuts and coffee and extensive praise for organizers. It was the largest Aid gathering to date.
The Merchants Band’s second weekly concert drew a large audience with cars lining Main Street for miles to hear the performance under director E S Kline. Heavy expenses led to a suggested small donation, which raised $20 in minutes, prompting thanks and a reminder of concerts every Thursday at eight.
Denver churchgoers enjoyed two fine services at the Methodist Church on Sunday. In the morning Rev. Columbus Hall of Franklin College preached a memory stirring sermon. In the evening Rev. Park gave an able address and an elderly man, Mr. Cate, requested admission to church membership as the service ended.
Oliver Perry Cover a Civil War veteran died June 22 1920 at age 79 in Denver Indiana after a long life of faithfulness to family church and country He served in the 40th Indiana and 12th Indiana regiments later joined the Methodist Church in Denver and remained active in his faith He leaves his wife Della and other relatives with funeral services held at Denver Methodist Church.
Lewis Gustin traveled to Knights town Monday and returned with a newly built funeral car on a Big Six Overland chassis. Painted light gray, the hearse offers a neat conservative appearance and reflects Gustin’s aim to serve a progressive community after four months of construction.
Dr. G. W. Musselman has installed a complete Delco lighting system at his Washington Street home after waiting for electric service. The Miami Electrical Supply Co. of Peru installed the plant. the Musselmans praise the bright light and the added comfort and convenience.
