The message lists Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. next Sunday with Lee Long in September. Revival services continue nightly at 7:30 p.m. except Saturday. Next Sunday features regular preaching. All are invited. Pastor Alvin F. White invites the congregation.
The Brethren Church invites the public to Bible Study at 9 30 a m and Christain Endeavor at 6 00 p m led by Supt Sam Clingaman and Pastor Rev Wirick respectively.
Merritt Cunningham arrived home Saturday from Akron Ohio. Garland Cunningham, Goodyear Rubber Co. employee, visited two weeks ago with his parents J S Cunningham and wife. Merritt joined him in Denver for a time before choosing Denver as his home. Mrs Higgins and Mrs Lewis plan Delphi Ind move. Mrs J H Goff left for St Louis after visits with relatives.
Over the past two weeks L Dukes and Co renovated their Denver hardware store. They redecorated walls and ceiling, reorganized interiors, and created a brighter, more prosperous look. The firm claims the largest and best stock in the region and invites patrons to visit.
Charles Eugene Sheak, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Sheak, died Sunday at their Logansport home from scarlet fever that progressed to meningitis. The body was moved to North Manchester for funeral services held Wednesday. The family formerly lived in Denver where he worked for the Vandalia railroad.
Advertises calling the North Manchester Concrete Silo Co. for silo prices with early order discounts. Mentions Mrs. Beulah Shipman arriving in Denver from Illinois for a visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Sebrull. Harold Friend and family from Peru visited Denver over the weekend with relatives including Mrs. Ira Friend.
William A. Roach secretary of state of Indiana died at his Indianapolis home after weeks of illness from uremic poisoning and arteriosclerosis. Born September 24 1874 in Delphi he was appointed secretary in 1917 and elected in 1918. He witnessed the ratification of the woman suffrage amendment and planned a January visit with Dr. Newell before passing away. Governor Goodrich appointed Pliny H. Wolford acting secretary and will name a replacement for the unexpired term.
A bank ad urges starting a savings account during National Thrift Week. It touts 3 percent interest compounded quarterly and promotes Citizens State Bank of Denver Indiana as the trusted institution.
A Tribune correction states R D Haines did not resign as assistant cashier to pursue a post graduate course at Peru High School. He has been granted a leave of absence for a few months by the bank's Board of Directors.
A fine baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Lyman Maus living northwest of Denver on Tuesday January 20. He is the couple's only child and they are very proud of him.
Telegram from Denver reports the death of Mrs. Ivan Dewald at her home in Eads Colorado. The body will arrive in Peru and burial is planned in Mexico Friday. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Yoder near Perrysburg. The couple moved to Colorado for health reasons several months ago.
The will of Mary K. See, dated April 13 1918, filed for probate in Denver. Witnesses Chester Long and Henry F Murphy, both of Denver, note the estate's debts and funeral costs will be paid from sale proceeds, with remaining property to be shared equally by John Wesley Kerschner, Sara Pontius, William Kersehner and Ruzella Roberts. The will suggests administrator be chosen by the four children.
The Twelve Mile area reports mild winter with about twelve inches of snow aiding the wheat crop. Church meetings continue at the A B Church and Christian Church. Hog slaughter at Routh's near Logansport claimed one thousand hogs in a single morning. Albert Skinner works near the packing house. Long Cliff houses eight hundred inmates, praised as a good place for inmates. Miny Jessie Ballou mourns her mother and continues running the home with broad support.
