C W Long reports Glen Smith fractured his forearm when a Chevrolet crank back fired Saturday afternoon. Doctors Waymire treated the severe two bone break near the wrist and Smith, taken to Peru for closer examination, faces a lengthy recovery.
C. E. Miller, poultry and egg dealer, has bought a large ton truck to cover his growing territory. He notes feed prices are down and expects 1921 to be a great year for poultry raisers despite lower poultry and egg prices.
Daniel Scott traveled to Hamilton after his cousin John W. Scott died of heart trouble at age seventy seven. Funeral services were held at the home and burial followed in Gratis, Ohio. Also noted are social calls at the Marley residence celebrating newborn Clara Catharine Long with relatives gathered Sunday afternoon.
Reed Bros Peru advertises hand and power sprayers in various makes sizes and styles with seasonal pricing. William Wikle and wife of Tipton visited Denver last week to see J T Wikle and wife, the former’s brother.
The Miami County Tuberculosis Society reports 1920 bond and Christmas stamps sales totaling 2323.24, a 580.25 increase from 1919. State aid of 527.14 goes to Indianapolis. rest funds local reeds. Prizes awarded by schools per capita, with Central and Ebay schools noted. reports pending due to teacher illness. Local officers elected. thanks extended to donors including listed contributors.
Special meetings continue at the Brethren Church in Denver with growing attendance. Revival services feature inspiring sermons and singing, drawing large crowds and generous participation from attendees.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brown and their parents, the Browns and Derek family, spent Saturday in Peru where Mrs. Glen Brown went to a local dentist for a routine visit.
Miami county farmers and nearby counties prepare for a two day Agricultural short course at Wallace theatre on Friday and Saturday February 25 and 26. Lectures by Prof P G Holden Field International Harvester, R B Robertson Ohio horticulture expert, Miss Zella Wigent on home and school topics plus eight moving picture reels on agriculture. Free program open to all farmers and families with sessions in the theatre and a separate domestic science class at the Christian church.
The Denver Parent-Teachers Club met at the Methodist Church last Tuesday with many citizens present. Music featured Peru Male Quartette and the Musselman twins, while Ace Dukes and Prof Hann spoke on current events.

Mr and Mrs Glen Brown with family and friends traveled to Indianapolis to support Miriam Brown as she undergoes an appendicitis operation at Methodist Hospital. Dr Hatfield will perform the procedure amid concerns for her long standing poor health and hopes for a full recovery.
Mr and Mrs F C Connett of Ft Wayne welcomed a blue eyed baby girl named Frances Roberta born Sunday at 11 80 PM weighing 6 4 pounds. Roberta is the first child in the Connett household and the first granddaughter of the Lacey family. Mrs Connett formerly Paulyne Lacey daughter of Rev H Lacey of Denver now of Bippus Ind.
Mrs Emma Tharp received a telegram announcing the death of her uncle Frank Gowdy at his Union Pier Michigan home on Sunday evening. Funeral services were held yesterday. Mrs Tharp, ill for weeks, is under physician care in South Whitley and could not attend. she sent a telegram and ordered flowers in remembrance.
Miss Marie Kinley daughter of Willard Kinley has Scarlet fever and is improving. The Deedsville school closed as a precaution since Monday and will stay closed until danger of spread is over. Officials expect no further cases.
A fine baby boy weighing nine pounds was born Wednesday February 9 at the Kinley home near Deedsville. He has been named Doy Emerson. Mrs. Kinley, formerly Miss Florence Bowen, is a granddaughter of Mr and Mrs M M Dukes of Denver.
Will move to Indianapolis to take charge of the Indiana department of The Southern Line Timber Co. Leavitt, formerly of Perrysburg, will relocate with his family about March 1. His brother R A Leavitt remains with the firm in sales and stockholding.
Elmer Ream of Denver spent Tuesday with brother Will Ream. Mrs Mary Dewald visited son Paul and family last week. Omer Lee Glenn Brown called on Floyd Yoder Friday evening. Mrs Cora Fisher of Denver visited Mrs S D Berger. F S Matthias was in Peru Monday. Deedsville school closed Friday due to Scarlet fever. Mary Berger and Tessie Ballee visited Mrs S D Berger Wednesday. Paul Dewald family and Mary Dewald visited Mrs Mary Berger Sunday. Chester Wohlhe ter Kokomo and family stayed with his parents Friday and Saturday. Harry Lowe Peru called on Ethel Hoagland Sunday evening. Sullivan and wife Frank Matthias and Alvena called on S D Berger Friday evening. Ruth Letherman and daughter visited Mrs Sarah Berger Friday afternoon. William Gruwell hosting his long-lost brother.
Neighbors surprised Mr and Mrs Floyd Yoder Friday evening by arriving for an unscheduled social. Music games and refreshments followed and guests enjoyed a lively evening. Mrs Elizabeth Murphy of Peru visited Ott Murphy and family earlier in the week.
