Raffles captured in Wabash Market streets hunt ends

A. M. Keene posted a ten dollar reward for any person capturing Raffles. Mr. Tharp tracked the mysterious man to Wabash and Market streets, identified him as Raffles of Highland Roller Rink, and delivered him to Keene. Raffles alias Jack Beverly of Elkhart arrived with a companion, rented a room, and faced a restless pursuit by locals.

John Wesley Thompson born March 16 1836 in Peble County Ohio died after a paralysis stroke in Plymouth Indiana surrounded by family. He served in the Union Army 1863 joined Shermans march to the sea. Funeral at Weasaw church Interment Weasaw cemetery. David Piper born August 4 1827 in Montgomery Ohio died February 11 1906 aged 78 years 6 months 11 days. He moved to Indiana in 1843 married Sarah Stoffer 1852 mother of 13 children six living. Burial Denver cemetery after services conducted by Elder Irvin Fisher at Abraham McDonald residence Denver.

Drexel Cady Loses Fingers In Rip Saw Accident

Monday morning about ten o clock Drexel Cady son of Leander Cady suffered a severe accident at a basket factory. He lost the thumb and three fingers of his left hand on a rip saw. The little finger was badly cut but may be saved. Doctors Piper and Wright dressed the wound and he is progressing nicely.

Castleman See couple wed at home ceremony

On Sunday February 11 at 6 o clock at the bride’s home Miss Emma Castleman daughter of Mr and Mrs Caleb Castleman of Lesters Ford and E T See son of Mr and Mrs Frank See of this place were married in a small family ceremony The groom works in Overmire and Andersons store at Lesters Ford where a home was prepared for the bride The Tribune offers best wishes for a happy prosperous life together Fernand C Cleland of Peru and Doral Fites of Denver were married at noon at the M E Parsonage Rev H Lacy officiating Best wishes for a successful life voyage were extended by friends.

Election Notice for Weasaw Cemetery Directors

Notice is given of an election of three directors for Weasaw Cemetery at Weasaw Baptist Church on Saturday March 24 1906 from 1 to 8 pm. Voters may cast one ballot for each person with buried friends in the cemetery. Directors serve two four and six year terms by ballot order with highest getting six years next four and next two. Dated February 9 1906.

Editor W. W. Lockwood in Peru Reports Worsening

Late Peru reports indicate W. W. Lockwood editor of the Peru Republican is in a dire condition. The foot, badly injured in last November’s accident, was amputated last Monday. Though initially hopeful, a relapse has revived fears for his life.

Walter Johnson Guest of Stowman and Taylor

Walter Johnson of Little Rock Arkansas visited D C Stowman and family and M N Taylor on Friday and Saturday. John Charles reported from Aan Harbor Michigan that his operation was successful and he feels well. He is at the Homeopathic Hospital in a nice place and his friends wish him a speedy recovery.
