Revival Services Begin at Denver Methodist Church led by Rev J B Cook

Revival meetings started Sunday night February 2 at the Denver Methodist Church under Rev J B Cook. Attendance was strong and officials hope for lasting impact. Citizens are urged to support the services and help the effort. A few unknown individuals have damaged Denver Home Telephone lines south of Denver with a hidden copper wire, and telegraph workers report seeing suspects. W H Howes and wife with Mrs Orpha Howes and Mrs Alma Sellers were guests of Mrs J P Tharp. A deal closed Friday with E D Leavitt selling Eli Nicholls 40 acres southeast of Denver to Eimer Hattin.

Lecture Course At Denver Brathren Church Friday

At the Denver Brathren Church on Friday night February 14 at 8 pm the fourth number of the Lecture Course will be presented. The Maud Stevens Concert Company is engaged with Charlotte Chamberlain the Pianist and Edith Welch the Violinist performing violin selections. Maude Stevens the Impersonator of Child Life is highlighted. Admission for adults is 35 cents, children 15 cents, and under 8 years free.

Delightful Evening Hosted by Mr and Mrs Piper

Mrs Clara Piper and her son Kenneth entertained a small group at their home last Sunday evening. Guests included Miss Lois Kline Miss Mary Alderfer Mia A M Brown and son Oscar and George Rhinebarger. The gathering featured social chat and light refreshments.

Boosters Club Formed In Denver To Boost Town Progress

A Denver Booster Club organized after Tuesday church services aims to plan a yearly Spring Booster Day. Officers elected were C. W. Long president F. K. Baker vice president N. B. Hunt secretary and H. C. Bumgerdner treasurer. The arranging committee includes L. H. Dice J. W. Garrison and W. B. Place.

Epworth League Entertained Local Youth Groups

The Epworth League hosted about fifty guests from Christian Endeavor and the B Y P U at the Methodist church lecture room. The evening featured songs readings and music with refreshments then a playful stunt program followed by games and social time.

William Heddle farm east of Deedsville sold to Mrs Irvin Zartman, with David Rockey of Perrysburg to take possession.

An old style advertisement asks “Have you any money unem ployed?” and urges readers to let surplus funds earn interest. It touts a busy bank and offers a 38% annual rate on a three month Certificate of Deposit, claiming safety and convenience of a checking account plus high CD returns.
