A Chicago carriage maker William Meutsch shot and killed his five year old daughter and fatally wounded two other children after quarrels with his wife. The victims were taken to a hospital where they were said to die. Separately a $100000 fire destroyed the Diamond Window Glass factory at Gas City Indiana, damaging nearby box cars. the plant had been closed since 1907 and planned to resume blowing glass next week.
