The Commercial Club will meet next Wednesday evening in the I O O F Hall. All members are urged to attend as important business will be discussed.
Albert Donaldson notes the property for sale. Harley Haines of Amboy spent Tuesday night with cousin Clyde Miller and wife. Mr and Mrs Josiah Maus and Mr and Mrs Frank Gerard and Mrs Nannie Robins visited the home of Mr and Mrs Deo Brewer on Tuesday.
Revival services at the Brethren Church continue with growing interest. Attendance remains strong despite rain and bad roads, and all Christians are urged to attend and participate to do good.
Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Brower entertained at dinner last Monday in honor of her uncle Jacob Hollenshad of Topeka. Also present were Joseph Norris C. Bell and O. Armantrout with others not identified.
The Farmers Institute of Jefferson Township meets in Mexico Indiana on Tuesday February 10 1914 starting at 10 am. A full program includes morning afternoon and evening sessions with talent from Denver and Mexico. Speakers Mr Ogg from Greencastle and Mrs Tuttle present addresses. Mr Cline delivers the evening talk at 7 30.
Morning session features a music invocation by R A Ogg and talks on solving farm problems and soil fertility with Mrs Earl Tittle appointing committees. Afternoon covers reports, a ladies quartette, soil fertility, and a round table. Evening includes readings, violin solo by Charles Farm Life and a discussion. Dinner by Brethren Church ladies.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Guy O'Bleins held a complete surprise gathering at their East Denver home on Thursday evening. Guests enjoyed abundant refreshments and a new Axminster rug was presented to the couple as a keepsake.

Papers filed in Miami Circuit Court Friday outline a unique case involving the American Home Baptist Mission Society as plaintiffs and heirs to the estate of Adaline Cool as defendants. The suit seeks 1088 for a supposed residuary bequest, a payment once intended to the society but unclear due to a non existent organization. Bailey and Bailey represent the association as they move the case forward.
Last Wednesday Charles O. Derck was taken to Indianapolis for hernia surgery at Methodist Hospital. Dr Way and Mrs Derck remained with him through the procedure performed Thursday. Derck is recovering well and expected to return to Denver soon.
George Balsbaugh of New Waverly traveled to Denver for business and social calls. He reported everyone well with slight colds and brightened the Tribune office by leaving a dollar for a new subscription.

It pitches bargains and quality goods at 54 North Broadway, Peru, Indiana, promising a hearty welcome and repeat visits. It asserts Glendlonen are welcome and urges potential customers to call for arrangements.
