Mrs. John A. Young of Clays Mays states she suffered neuralgia of the liver and heart, weakened and unable to eat, but found relief after using Electric Bitters. The item cautions that stomach and liver ailments lead to grave trouble without proper medicine.
Thirty three Epworth Leaguers joined a sleigh ride to the Long home Tuesday evening. They were greeted warmly, played games including silhouette guessing, enjoyed recitations by Miss Lutle Bruce, music from Lee Marie and Russell Long, and treats of apples and candy.
The Lake Erie railroad plans major ballast work next summer on the north end, re graving 62 of 87 miles between this city and Michigan City. 3,700 rodger ballast car loads equal 95,000 cubic yards of gravel from a Denver pit, with about three trains daily. Roadmaster Correll inspected the Denver pit as work resumes when weather allows. The south end was ballasted last summer and the entire roadbed should be in first class condition upon completion.
Jerome Herff discusses a possible road plan change from here to Macy via Mud Lake Fulton Kewanna Lake Maxinkuckee Bass Lake and Knox with Hammond as the target. The idea would connect two or three summer resorts to boost year round patronage. Other notes mention visitors from Logansport and oil company activity near Pettysville with drilling equipment arriving soon.
A large crowd witnessed the Jefferson and union Fox Drive near Weasaw church where four foxes contested the ring. Two were captured alive, one escaped, and the largest fox sold for 10.25. Local events included races and pie contests with donations aiding Denver Baptist church. Mercer was fined for an offense during the escape incident. Dr Redman paid 1.50. Trustee Woolley attended county board meetings and local jeweler bargains were noted.
A large gathering at the Denver school Monday night organized the Richland Township Fox Drive Association. Officers elected include President A L Fouts Secretary Frank Ward Treasurer Joseph Keim Captain William Bell and ads committee C W Long and C L Myres. Boundaries set cover Eel River to Pettysville road with Deedsville road as north line. Dinner by church ladies and races plus amusements promised for next Thursday February 9.

Social visitors include John Norris family and Fern Norris from Cincinnati staying with John Norris in California, and Mrs Ellen Grimes attending a funeral. Retail promotion from Hall and Loewenthal glows with a midwinter sale offering shirts at reduced prices.
