L B Donaldson son of R F and Elizabeth Donaldson died December 7 1912 aged sixty four and a half. Survived by two brothers Leroy Missouri and Lorenzo near Denver Idaho his wife Emma M Hunter four children Grace Oscar Chan and John three grandchildren Martha Marcus and Richard and his parents. He lived on a farm north of Peru moved to Peru seventeen years ago with his family. Member of First M E Church and I O F No 589. Longtime employee of the Wabash railroad company.

Pleasant season end Oyster Supper for Big Four Corn Shredder Co

The Big Four Corn Shredder Co. of South of Denver held a season closing gathering at Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Brower last Tuesday. After settling expenses, attendees enjoyed a fine oyster supper and good company with James Kranning, Jacob Fouts, Marion Miller, and Schwyler Gallahan and their families present.

Auction of Scrap Lumber From Old Fire Engine House

On Saturday afternoon at two o'clock scrap lumber from the old fire engine house will be sold to the highest bidder. Payment is due immediately and items must be removed. The sale takes place at the new fire house.

Christmas programs and services noted at multiple churches. Bap tist Church asks for gifts for the needy to be placed in the manger for distribution. Rev T A Aspy preaches 7 30 pm and 10 30 am. Methodist Church holds services with Epworth League at 6 15. Christmas Eve program at the Methodist church includes a Xmas tree and gifts. Brethren Church services at 11 am with a Christmas program on December 22. All are invited.

Waymires Surprised by Washington Street Club Event

The Washington Street Club surprised Dr and Mrs Elbert Waymire on Tuesday evening. The gathering proved very pleasant with the men receiving lemons. Refreshments included cake jello fruit whipped cream and tea.

E. D. Leavitt closed a major deal last Saturday trading Lafayette property for 840 acres of land in Michigan. Miss Olivia Smith hosted Miss Marie Long Roy Marley and Lee Fisher at supper Sunday evening in a social gathering.

Surprise Club party ends with cotton pie prank

Washington Street Club hosted a surprise party at Mr and Mrs Charles Bell's home. The men served the guests and kept the ladies out of the kitchen then pranked four women with cotton stuffed pie and amused themselves with light jokes before proper servings.

After attending a Lecture Course thirty young men entertained the young ladies at Mrs Anna Martin's home in West Denver. A grand three course supper featured oysters slaw chicken and turkey ice cream and cake. The gathering ended with music and games, the guests departing late with thanks to the Denver young men.
